What We Do The Give-A-Book Foundation provides the opportunity for businesses, service & civic organizations, churches, and individuals, to partner with schools, preschools, and other children’s organizations, to provide quality books for children. Often the books provided by Give-A-Book are the only books these children have ever owned!
Why We Do It An estimated 61% of low income families have no children’s books in their homes. Access to printed materials has been identified as one of the most critical variables affecting reading acquisition. So when Give-A-Book provides books to children, we increase their chance of developing higher literacy skills.
How We Do It The Give-A-Book Foundation or your organization identifies a school or organization that could benefit from the program. Give-A-Book and school personnel select appropriate titles. Give-A-Book secures the books for a minimal cost per child. Your business or organization donates the cost. How You Can Help You can be involved by simply making a monetary donation. All checks should be made payable to the Give-A-Book Foundation and all donations are tax-deductible. |
